With the Pongal release line-up already
having been filled with both 'I' and 'Yennai Arindhaal', talks about the
Sivakarthikeyan starrer 'Kaaki Sattai' joining the race has stirred up
some conversation.
Speaking to IndiaGlitz in an exclusive
interview, the actor was joined by the music composer for the film,
Anirudh Ravichander. Sitting down with us, they discussed everything
from the humble beginnings of the movie till the current post-production
stages of the movie.
When asked how it feels about the talks
around the town about 'Kaaki Sattai' joining the Pongal race,
Sivakarthikeyan responded saying, "One must not fail to acknowledge that
director Shankar's 'I' is highly-anticipated by almost the whole of
India. Likewise, Thala Ajith's 'Yennai Arindhaal' is a mass movie and
also expected on so many big levels. You must know that since these two
movies are releasing at the same time, there will not be many theatres
available. There are around 900 theatres in Tamil Nadu and almost 800 of
them will be screening these two movies. If at all any one of these two
movies back out at the last moment, then it is a possibility and that
too it comes down to the producer's call then. In addition, when these
two big movies are releasing, it won't matter no matter how big we
advertise our movie. Practically speaking, it is impossible to compete
with these big stars. I neither have the intention to compete with
actors of their stature. For upcoming actors like myself, I would
generally prefer a good release date or a leave day for the release of
my movie. There seems to be a misunderstanding regarding this among many
that I'm competing with these big stars. Truth to be told, I neither
posses the stature or the confidence to compete with them."
